Yellow Buses extend partnership for fifth year

AFC Bournemouth is delighted to extend its partnership with Yellow Buses for the fifth consecutive season.

The local firm operates on the south coast and carries just under 15 million passengers on their 131-strong bus fleet, clocking up nearly five million miles across Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and East Dorset per year.

Yellow Buses will continue to be an official partner of AFC Bournemouth’s Community Sports Trust and sponsor the Soccer Safety schools programme, which is delivered to children across Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset.

The lessons are designed to help educate children and young people on how to be safe when travelling within the local community.

The workshops look closely at using different modes of transport such as buses, cars, cycle bikes and travel by foot, identifying the dos and don’ts in certain situations.

The local transport company will also be supporting our Junior Cherries this season, giving away monthly bus passes throughout the year to encourage young supporters to make the most of their extensive network of routes.

Following the sponsorship extension, AFC Bournemouth partnerships manager Amy Marks spoke with afcb.co.uk.

“We’re really pleased to be continuing our partnership with Yellow Buses for a fifth season and keep delivering such important lessons in schools.

“It’s an extremely important topic and we’re grateful to have the support of Yellow Buses in such challenging times.”

Fiona Harwood, marketing sales manager of Yellow Buses, also expressed her delight and the partnership.

“Both Yellow Buses and AFC Bournemouth are very much part of the community, based here in Bournemouth, and it’s great to be able to extend our partnership and deliver these projects into schools.

“The children are our future customers and via this programme we are be able to provide them with the safety tips they need. They are able to learn in a fun environment both inside the classroom and out.”

Together with Yellow Buses, and project ambassador Dan Gosling, we have been bringing fun and important safety lessons to several schools in the area.

We’re always looking for more schools to join in and those that are interested should contact Steve Cuss on steve.cuss@afcb.co.uk.
