Wave 105 running Cash For Kids this Christmas

AFC Bournemouth will be assisting official commercial radio supporter, Wave 105, to help bring Christmas presents to deserving children across the region.

Wave 105 runs its Cash For Kids Mission Christmas programme every year to ensure that children living in poverty in the south will receive a present on Christmas Day.

The radio station broadcast across Hampshire, Dorset, Isle Of Wight and West Sussex where over 93,000 children are unfortunately forced to live in poverty.

Relying solely on the generous donations of the public, the Mission Christmas campaign accepts presents and money – which will be used to go out and buy presents – in order to provide gifts to give to organisations applying to be part of the project.

These come from the likes of social services, children’s charities, foodbanks, hostels and young carers clubs, and last year the campaign helped over 38,000 children.

AFC Bournemouth will help play their part by providing one of the drop-off points so supporters can donate this Christmas, this drop-off point will be based in the club Superstore.

Samantha Tanner, charity manager for Wave 105 Cash for Kids said: “We couldn’t help as many children as we do without the generosity of clubs like AFC Bournemouth who are one of our drop off points again this year.

“By working together as one community we can make sure that local disadvantaged children and teenagers have a happy Christmas this year.”

Supporters can provide donations seven days a week during normal opening hours, with the final donations being accepted on Tuesday 17th December.
