Hosting chairman's luncheon was an honour

AFC Bournemouth AFC Bournemouth

AFC Bournemouth head coach Scott Parker and women’s team manager Steve Cuss were Jeff Mostyn’s special guests at his chairman’s luncheon, held at Vitality Stadium.

Parker and Cuss both led their Cherries teams to the top of their respective leagues this month, with Cuss named manager of the month for August in National League Division One South West.

Hosted by former Cherries goalkeeper Jimmy Glass, the luncheon was kindly sponsored by long-standing supporters Hill Osborne, who the club would like to publicly thank.

Established in the mid-1960s and with offices in Poole and Wimborne, Hill Osborne are currently in their 12th year as official partners of AFC Business.

They offer a comprehensive range of accountancy and business advisory services to private individuals and companies across many sectors, specialising in family-owned and controlled businesses.

Hill Osborne’s Richard Osborne said: “As a lifelong supporter of the club, it was a privilege to sponsor the chairman’s lunch and I thank Jeff Mostyn for hosting the event.

“It was great to hear from Scott Parker and Steve Cuss on their management approach and involvement of the club in the community.”

More than 40 AFC Business members attended the first chairman’s luncheon to be held since February 2019, with last year’s event cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Guests enjoyed a three-course lunch followed by an insightful and humorous talk as they discussed the club’s journey, both on and off the pitch, over the past two years.

The talk also touched on themes of refocussing, realigning and reenergising.

Cherries chairman Mostyn told afcb.co.uk: “It has been a while since we lasted hosted an event at the football club and to have the chairman’s lunch as the first event back is a real honour. It is a privilege to host an elite group of business people.

“They are the lifeblood of any business, especially with a club of our size. I think it is the passion they have for the football club that shines through in everything they do and they are a wonderful group of people.”

AFC Business would like to extend its thanks to all guests who attended a successful event which was held in Bubbles Champagne Lounge.

Vitality Stadium will host a directors’ dinner on Wednesday 20th October. Click here to see the AFC Business event calendar.
