Dublin and Waterman to attend Sporting Dinner

Former England footballer turned TV presenter Dion Dublin will be the guest speaker at AFC Bournemouth's next Sporting Dinner.

He will be joined at the club's Vitality Stadium on Thursday 21st March by England rugby union star Danielle 'Nolli' Waterman.

The evening, sponsored by Frettens Solicitors, will be hosted by stand-up comedian Dominic Holland and tickets for the event are on sale now.

Commercial executive Brian Benjafield said: "This promises to be a fascinating evening with accomplished speaker Dion having a host of anecdotes about his long football career and recent television work.

"And I am sure Nolli will be telling us about her extraordinary rugby career of being a World Cup winner, getting more than 80 England caps and appearing at the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil.

"Tickets are sure to sell fast so I recommend anyone wanting to attend not to delay too long to secure their place, especially those wishing to book tables."

Striker Dion Dublin, now 49, played 613 senior games for the likes of Cambridge Utd, Manchester Utd, Coventry City, Aston Villa, Leicester Celtic and Norwich, scoring 183 goals.

He won the Premier League’s Golden Boot in 1997/98 and played four times for England. After retiring at the age of 39 he has worked as a media pundit and, since 2015, as a presenter for the BBC’s Homes Under the Hammer.

Nolli Waterman, 33, daughter of Bath legend Jim Waterman, is a professional English rugby union and rugby sevens player. From being the youngest player to ever be capped by England Women’s Rugby in 2003, Nolli became a Rugby World Cup winner with England in 2014. She is also a multiple Six Nations Championship winner.

Dominic Holland is a master of observational comedy who has been doing stand-up comedy since 1991. He is a Perrier Award winner and has become one of the most regarded comedians of his generation as well as being a brilliant event compere and accomplished awards host.

Tickets for the event are £65+VAT per person, with tables of 10 costing £625+VAT. The dress code for lounge suits and cocktail dresses with arrival at Vitality Stadium from 6pm.
