Care South renew Cherries partnership for 2023/24

AFC Bournemouth are pleased to announce another three seasons working with Care South, who have partnered with the club ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.

Headquartered in Poole, the organisation is a not-for-profit charity and a leading provider of high quality residential and care-at-home services across the south of England.

The partnership has been going from strength-to-strength, always looking to provide richer experiences for Care South residents, creating stimulating and lasting memories through the power of football.

In addition to the regular ‘Extra Time’ initiative, where the club’s community coaches deliver weekly activities in the residential homes focusing on their health and wellbeing, last season also delivered special family & friend football days at the residential homes, VIP resident stadium visits, a Christmas Coffee morning for residents at The Vitality Stadium, residents attending a players dinner and the AFC Bournemouth club captain, Neto, visit the Castle Dene care home in Bournemouth, as residents got to speak with him about his life in professional football and how he looks after himself on and off the pitch.

Having worked together since 2014, they will continue to be an official partner of AFC Bournemouth’s Community Sports Trust, sponsoring the club’s weekly walking football sessions.

Following the partnership renewal, Chief Executive of Care South, Simon Bird, shared his delight.

“The key to our successful partnership is that we have a shared objective; to provide a real benefit to the residents and care at home clients in our care. When you see it in action, you realise why it works. Everyone involved enjoys it – which is why the initiatives within the partnership are so successful.”

Amy Marks, Global Partnerships Manager at AFC Bournemouth, also commented.

“Care South are a really valued partner and we’ve done some great work over the last nine years. It’s always a highlight when we go out to the homes and see so many happy faces there to greet us. We’re thoroughly looking forward to continuing our relationship with them and see it go from strength to strength.”

The club looks forward to creating more lasting memories for residents throughout the 2023/24 season, with visits from more first team players and other club legends.
