Over 75 local businessmen and women enjoyed this morning’s latest AFC Business Breakfast.

Taking place at Bournemouth University for the first time, guests were invited to the Talbot Campus from 7.30am to mingle and network with fellow attendees.

Tea and coffee were served, while a range of pastries, fresh fruit and bacon rolls were available too.

Guests were also entered into a business card draw to win prizes, with Jane Stokes from Barclays coming away with two places at the AFC Business Spring BBQ, Ann Evans from Artist receiving two spaces at the AFC Business Directors’ Lunch and finally Peter Lamb from Savills winning a home shirt.

Following the breakfast, attendees were invited into a lecture theatre in the impressive Fusion Building to hear from university representatives about the growth of education and its impact within Bournemouth.

After the event, afcbTV caught up with commercial director Rob Mitchell.

“It’s our first event that we’ve hosted at Bournemouth University and we’re delighted to have it here in this very impressive Fusion Building,” he began.

“They’re a partner of the club and support us across the business in a range of departments such as sport science, coaching, marketing and media.

“We also help promote the university around the world, so it’s a very strong partnership.”

Ian Jones, head of regional community partnerships at Bournemouth University, also added his comments.

“It’s nice and busy and a lovely thing to do here at the university.

“It’s great to have so many business people here and seeing the university in full flow in the morning. It’s a fantastic place to come and visit and it’s nice for others to come and see the building and its ambience.”

AFC Bournemouth would like to extend its thanks to the club’s Higher Education Partner, Bournemouth University, for hosting the event, as well as the official partners of AFC Business:

  • Bournemouth Chamber of Trade and Commerce
  • Dorset Chamber of Commerce and Industry
  • Dorset Mental Health Forum
