Together with ESET, AFC Bournemouth were delighted to bring to life the ‘Letter to Jaidon’ campaign at Vitality Stadium.
Junior Cherries were asked to write a letter to winger, Jaidon Anthony, offering advice on how he can keep himself and his teammates safe online.
20 young supporters were selected and invited to Vitality Stadium to meet the 23 year-old, who answered all their questions in a mini press conference prior to heading on loan to Leeds United.
The Junior Cherries were also given a stadium tour, refreshments and a short activity to test their internet safety knowledge.
The day ended with Anthony, alongside former striker Steve Fletcher, signing autographs and posing for photos in the club’s media suite.
It was part of a wider project the club collaborate with ESET on, as the firm sponsor our Community Sports Trust’s Safer Kids Online programme. This consists of workshops delivered in local schools in order to help pupils be more aware of online behaviour.
Following the day, Anthony spoke to afcb.co.uk about its success: “It was great to be able to welcome so many Junior Cherries to Vitality Stadium for this special workshop with ESET. I hope everyone that came enjoyed it as much as me and it was really nice to meet the younger fans.
“It’s a really important topic and I’m so pleased I could do my bit in speaking to the children throughout the afternoon.”
