Vehicle hire specialists Abacus have extended their support of the AFC Bournemouth youth teams.

Dave Wolfenden, managing director of Abacus, the expanding Ferndown and Andover based vehicle hire specialist, has been a keen supporter of AFC Bournemouth for over 30 years.

The company has supported the club’s first team and youth development squads by providing vans to transport kit and equipment.

Now Abacus has agreed to provide two Ford minibuses over two years to help facilitate the team’s transport requirement.

Additionally, the company currently sponsor the Cherries' under-8s, under-9s and under-10s teams, and consequently have their logo printed on the front of the playing shirts.

Amy Marks, partnership executive at AFC Bournemouth, and Sam Gisborne, academy operations and facilities manager, thanked Dave Wolfenden for his long-term support by presenting a special framed team shirt sporting the Abacus logo.

“It's great to be able to provide something practical to support and make life more convenient the dedicated staff and the young players as they train and compete,” said Wolfenden.

Abacus has also donated minibuses to two charities, Bournemouth based Michael House and the Andover and District Mencap team following a competition in which over 150 charities entered.

Wolfenden continued: “We would encourage every business that is trading successfully to put something back into society as part of their corporate responsibility policy.”
