Job purpose

Support the Marketing Manager in the management and execution of the roadmap for the digital evolution and related projects for AFC Bournemouth, encompassing both the website and new club app. Responsibilities will entail instigating transformation and refining the club's web and app interface through analysis, experimentation, and evolution techniques.

This pivotal role will help to put fans at the centre of our digital products, helping to grow, reach and engage new fans of all teams across AFC Bournemouth.

You will work closely with the wider marketing and media team, as well as commercial, ticketing, hospitality and the Community Sports Trust. Communication skills and experience in working closely with other business units will be key as the club looks to transform its digital offering. 

Main Duties

  • Maintain, develop and optimise the club website and new app.
  • Assist in developing and delivering a defined digital roadmap for the club.
  • Generate innovative concepts driven by an understanding of our digital product strategy and advancements within the wider sports sector.
  • Monitor and evaluate web and app performance to ensure continuous product iteration and improvement.
  • Work with key stakeholders around the club to ensure all digital platforms are on a cohesive and integrated path to a full optimized digital journey as well as fulfilling the day-to-day digital needs of those stakeholders.
  • React to and maximise key marketing opportunities through all digital means driven by the website and app.
  • With support from the Brand & Creative department, create website layouts to organise information and allow for intuitive usage.
  • Develop knowledge of website accessibility standards and legal requirements, improving functionality for all users.
  • Work with current website suppliers to determine and install new features and functionality.
  • As a member of staff to ensure in all matters, you follow and actively promote the club’s mental health policies and practices to ensure an open, non-judgmental and inclusive environment for everyone engaged with the club.

Key knowledge

  • Experience working on developing and optimising websites and apps/and or digital projects whilst working in an agile and fast-paced environment.
  • Degree level education.
  • An understanding of digital standards and best practices including technical/content SEO and accessibility.
  • A clear communicator with the ability to work with different teams and manage relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Highly motivated team player with a flexible approach and strong multi-tasking skills.
  • Knowledge and an interest in the sports industry is desirable.
  • Experience in coding digital platforms would be beneficial but not essential.
