Position and reporting line: Head of Academy Recruitment, Academy Recruitment Coordinator, Academy Manager and Head of Coaching

Purpose of Role

To coordinate all aspects of the Junior Training Centre, which is a local programme for emerging talent ran by AFC Bournemouth Academy for the ages of U9-U14, whilst also assisting with the successful identification and recruitment of Foundation Phase & Pre-Academy players for the academy.

Key Relationships Internal: Head of academy recruitment, academy recruitment coordinator, academy Manager, academy age group coaches, academy operations manager, lead pre-academy coach, junior training centre coaching team

External: Parents, local clubs, scouts from other clubs, regulatory bodies, link organisations

Required Qualifications

• FA Level 1 in talent identification
• Full Valid driving license
• Valid DBS
• Safeguarding children certificate
• Computer literate

Desired Qualifications

• FA Level 2 in talent identification
• Experience of working in an academy programme
• Degree in a sports-based field

Key Tasks

• To undertake all reasonable instructions from the Head of Academy Recruitment, Academy Recruitment Coordinator, Academy Manager and  Head of Coaching

• Provide weekly organisational plans and session structures to Junior Training Centre coaches

• Coordinate all aspects of the weekly Junior Training Centre festivals

• Advise on Junior Training Centre player’s progress within the U9 – U14 groups

• Oversee the academy recruitment strategy to ensure excellent provision for the identification and recruitment of talented players within the Foundation Phase.

• Produce succession plans to highlight recruitment needs throughout the academy

• Oversee the academy recruitment strategy to ensure excellent provision for the identification and recruitment of talented players within the Foundation Phase.

• Coordinate all aspects of the trial process for academy trialists in the Foundation Phase

• Ensure all relevant information is uploaded on the PMA as identified by the Head of Academy Recruitment

• Identify and monitor suitable clubs / organisations that could support the academy recruitment strategy

• Establish a network of contacts within organised football and other football provision throughout the club's catchment area for recruitment

• To act and conduct yourself, in a manner appropriate to a representative of AFC Bournemouth at all times

• Have a responsibility for the organisation and delivery of the Club’s policies and procedures relating to the identification and recruitment of Foundation Phase players for AFC Bournemouth academy

• Meet all qualification requirements as stipulated by the League.

• Undertake at least five hours of in-service training each year.

• To support the completion of all necessary administration duties

• To attend all in service events and courses as required by the Head of Academy Recruitment and Academy Manager

• To attend all staff meetings and relevant parent evenings as required by the Head of Academy Recruitment and Academy Manager

• Document all relevant conversations with parents/guardians of academy players and trialists

• Act as a support mechanism as and when required by recruitment staff in the YDP & PDP
