AFC Bournemouth currently have a vacancy for an Academy Kit & Laundry Assistant (Casual).

Title: Academy Kit & Laundry Assistant (Casual)

Reports to: Academy Operations Department.

Location: Various (Canford Park Arena and new training ground)

Contract Type: Casual – £12.50p/h (10 hours maximum). 23/24 season. Ideal working days are Monday and Thursday/Friday.

In the academy, there is a continued focus to become a category two academy, and this appointment will play a supporting role in that. This is a really exciting time to join the academy, as we move on to the next stage and continue to support the first team.

Main Duties

The Kit & Laundry Assistant will be based at the Vitality Stadium, Bournemouth. they will work alongside the operations team, helping action all academy match kit and laundry needs for the club’s academy.

In liaison with the operations dept., the Kit & Laundry Assistant will be responsible for ensuring that all academy teams have sufficient kit on matchdays.

  • Liaise with the operations dept. on all matters concerning match kit and laundry requirements.
  • Prepare and pack all age group schoolboy match kit requirements and liaise with the academy operations dept. to establish playing colours for each game.
  • Collect all kit from the venue on a Monday and ensure match kit is promptly cleaned and packed away safely and securely. If there is a midweek fixture, the Kit & Laundry Assistant may be required to collect some kit on a Thursday/Friday also.
  • Maintain accurate records of all academy match kit logs and report discrepancies to the academy operations dept.
  • Move all match kits to the desired location/venue on a Thursday or Friday, in preparation for the games on a weekend.

General

Key competencies

Required

  • Driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • No academic qualifications required but the individual must be flexible, punctual and can follow simple instructions and procedures.
  • Individual must have excellent organisational/communication skill and be committed and motivated.
