Travers & Long in for Ireland

Mark Travers and Shane Long have received Republic of Ireland call ups for their nation's trio of matches over the international break.

Stephen Kenny's side start off with their first two World Cup qualifiers of the current cycle, first traveling to Belgrade to face Serbia on Wednesday 24th March before returning to Dublin ready to host Luxembourg on Saturday 27th March.

Portugal and Azerbaijian are the other two teams in opposition for Ireland in Group A, with games against those sides scheduled for September.

Ireland's third and final match then sees them play in a friendly against World Cup hosts Qatar in Debrecen in Hungary on Tuesday 30th March.

Travers will join the squad looking to add to his two caps while loanee Long is just three shy of the 88-cap mark needed to break into the top ten highest appearance makers for Ireland.
