Jason Tindall reacted to the news that supporters will be allowed into Vitality Stadium for the first time this season at the end of the current lockdown.
Following the Government’s announcement on Thursday, with Dorset being placed in Tier 2 of the latest Covid-19 restrictions, the club are planning to admit 1,000 supporters as their test event for the match with Huddersfield Town on 12th December, with 2,000 supporters expected to be allowed to home matches thereafter.
Tindall spoke of the boost he anticipates to receive from the introduction of fans at matches, as well as the positive experience for each of the supporters able to come to watch the Cherries in action for the first time in over nine months.
“It’s really great news and we’re really pleased,” he said. “It’s something that we as a football club have been hoping and waiting for and it’s something that fans up and down the country have been waiting to do – to go and watch the team that they love and have supported for so long.
“To be able to finally come and watch the team play live I think is going to be great for mental health and so many other reasons.”

Having experienced a crowd at a game already this season for the away match against Middlesbrough in mid-September, Tindall spoke of the effect fans in the stadium can have, even in reduced numbers.
“I’m certainly looking forward to it,” he said. “I know the difference it made for Middlesbrough, albeit some time ago when they had their thousand fans in the stadium, it really made a difference to them that day.
“I know here at Vitality Stadium how much of a difference the fans make to us as a team, so I’m really looking forward to it and I can’t wait for the fans to be back here.”
