Surridge nets on 21s debut

AFC Bournemouth striker Sam Surridge gave himself a moment he'll never forget as he scored on his England under-21s debut.

The 21-year-old capped off a memorable week after he was called up for the first time ever at international level on Sunday.

The Cherries frontman, currently on loan at Swansea City, came off the bench as a second-half substitute for Aidy Boothroyd's side and scored in the 70th minute against Slovenia.

Surridge latched onto Ben Wilmot's effort that had hit the post to put the Young Lions 2-0 up in Maribor, but despite dominating the game, England surrendered their advantage to draw 2-2.

Aaron Ramsdale also played 90 minutes in the game and Lloyd Kelly played 63 minutes as the Young Lions face Austria next in Milton Keynes.
