Supporter liaison update: Friday 16th June

General manager and supporter liaison officer Liz Finney updates supporters on the latest on-goings on in and around Vitality Stadium.

New website

With the launch of the club’s new website we’re looking to make afcb.co.uk the go-to place for all Cherries fans.

The new platform will provide FREE and accessible news, videos, reports and audio on all things AFC Bournemouth in an engaging way, with specific sections and pages for the many areas of the club.

This includes the Community Sports Trust, global Cherries and all the different teams representing the club.

As the site develops it will build upon the current Junior Cherries and fan content, making our coverage of the 2017/18 season better than ever before.

Telephone match ticket sales

For the last two months of the 2016/17 season we have trialled the handling of all match ticket telephone sales by the AFC Bournemouth ticket office staff.

We feel that this trial has worked well for supporters with an average waiting time of 57 seconds, an average transaction time of 2 minutes, 48 seconds and missed calls logged and returned.

From the club’s perspective it has given us the ability to react quickly to any issues and communicate informatively and directly with fans. We propose moving forward on this basis for the 2017/18 season and hope to continue to improve the ticket purchasing service we offer.

We would like to thank the ticket sales staff and management at BH Live for their support and assistance over the long period of our partnership and we will look to continue to work with BH Live in other specific areas.

Season ticket sales

We are now nearing the end of our initial sales period for season tickets and sales have been steady throughout the period with many supporters - 45% so far - taking advantage of the new option to purchase their seats over the phone with our ticket office team.

We have really appreciated the co-operation of those season ticket holders who have moved seats to accommodate the club’s work towards providing the raised platforms required under the Accessible Stadia Guide.

We recognise that moving from a seat that you have been used to for a considerable time is not easy, but the vast majority of those affected have been very understanding and accommodating. We have and will continue to work with those supporters affected to make the process as easy as possible.


You will have seen fixtures released on Wednesday and our football life mapped out for the coming season - it will be here before we know it!

The on-sale dates for home and away games can be viewed on the website now and will be updated in due course as the TV games are announced.

Junior Cherries

We had a great response from the recent Junior Cherries survey we carried out and some really positive feedback especially on value, events and benefits.

We will continue to work to improve the membership and the new website will prove invaluable in this.

Thanks to those young supporters from the family focus group for their ideas for the Junior Cherries page and we will start to see them implemented over the start of the new season.

Junior Cherries should also look out on the website for the opportunity to be ball boys/girls at home Premier League games next season – another new benefit for members.

Just to note too for our young fans, that we have appointed a young supporter matchday co-ordinator who will oversee the matchday experience for young fans, working with our community trust coaches.
