Start for Semenyo in Ghana draw

Antoine Semenyo was rewarded for his match-winning cameo for Ghana with a start in their latest Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

The Cherries forward had netted a last-gasp winner in Ghana's first game of the international break against Angola and the two teams met for a second time in Talatona.

Semenyo played 60 minutes before being replaced by Athletic Bilbao's Iñaki Williams as Ghana battled to a 1-1 draw.

Reading's Lucas João scored from the penalty spot for Angola before Osman Bukari equalised for Semenyo's side.

The draw leaves them top of Group E with two wins and two draws from their four matches.

Jamal Lowe started for Jamaica as they drew 2-2 with Mexico in the CONCACAF Nations League.

Playing at Mexico's incredible 87,523-capacity Azteca Stadium, Lowe played 66 minutes as Jamaica earned a credible draw.

Bobby Decordova Reid scored after just seven minutes to give Jamaica the lead before Orbelín Pineda equalised.

Jamaica regained the lead through Edson Álvarez's own-goal but again Mexico drew level through Hirving Lozano, with all four goals coming in a frantic first-half, which was temporarily suspended due to a lightning strike.

Finally, Mark Travers was an unused substitute in Republic of Ireland's narrow defeat to France in a UEFA EURO 2024 qualifier.

Ireland put in a competitive showing against the World Cup finalists with Benjamin Pavard's 50th minute strike the difference.
