AFC Bournemouth have once again shown their support for the Royal British Legion by auctioning off match-worn poppy shirts.
AFC Bournemouth have once again shown their support for the Royal British Legion by auctioning off match-worn poppy shirts.The auction, hosted by matchwornshirt.com, raised over £7,500 for the charity.
In the home win over Swansea City, all players wore shirts bearing the poppy as a symbol of remembrance for those that have lost their lives in war and continue to represent our armed forces.
Bids came in from across the world, including Hong Kong, France, Netherlands and Japan, with Dominic Solanke’s shirt proving the most popular, raising £567.
All money raised will help make a difference to members of the Armed Forces, veterans, and their families by providing practical help, advice and support.
The Royal British Legion is the country’s largest Armed Forces charity and it is the Legion’s aim to provide lifelong support for those who have been affected - both physically and mentally - as a result of their service. You can find out more information on The Legion’s great work here.
