Having already secured promotion the week before at home to Bolton Wanderers, the title seemed out of their grasp as Watford were in pole position to win the division.
But Atdhe Nuhui’s late equaliser for Sheffield Wednesday against the Hornets allowed the Cherries to capitalise thanks to two goals from Matt Ritchie and one from Harry Arter.
Finishing a point above Watford in the table ensured one of the club’s greatest ever days in London, with the players and staff presented with the trophy.
