AFC Bournemouth supporters have raised nearly £3,000 for Lymphoma Action in support of winger David Brooks.
Warm-up tops from the game against Huddersfield Town earlier in the season were signed by the first team and auctioned, alongside the dedicated shirt lifted up by Jamal Lowe after he netted against Bristol City.
The total figure raised by Cherries fans was £2945.54 with all proceeds being donated to Lymphoma Action, who are the only UK charity dedicated to lymphoma, the fifth most common form of cancer.
Lymphoma Action has been providing in-depth, expert information for 35 years and has helped thousands of people affected by lymphoma.
Sarah Thorn, Community and Partnerships Manager at Lymphoma Action, told afcb.co.uk: “We are truly grateful to AFC Bournemouth for their support, and for raising such a fantastic amount for us through the auction.
“All funds raised will help us provide vital information and support to make sure no one has to face lymphoma alone.”
Brooks provided a positive update on his recovery earlier this year and everyone associated with AFC Bournemouth is grateful for the continued support from the footballing community.
