AFC Bournemouth AFC Bournemouth

Ten years on from the Greatest Escape, AFC Bournemouth are releasing a documentary charting the unforgettable 2008/09 season.

Deducted 17 points on the eve of the season and heading out of The Football League due to spiralling financial woes, the Cherries, who were on their third manager of the season, famously survived thanks to a monumental effort from the players and staff.

The afcbTV documentary, titled Minus 17, speaks to the personalities involved, both on the pitch and behind-the-scenes, to give supporters a fresh insight into one of the club’s greatest seasons, which provided the launchpad for the Cherries' rapid ascent to the Premier League.

The documentary has exclusive interviews with the following:

  • Darren Anderton
  • Paul Belverstone (former ITV Meridian journalist)
  • Alan Connell
  • Shaun Cooper
  • Warren Cummings
  • Liam Feeney
  • Steve Fletcher
  • Eddie Howe
  • Mark Molesley
  • Jeff Mostyn
  • Jason Pearce
  • Neil Perrett (former Bournemouth Echo sports writer)
  • Brett Pitman
  • Anton Robinson
  • Jason Tindall
  • Neil Vacher (club secretary)

The documentary will air for the first time on Wednesday 24th April in an exclusive premiere event at Bournemouth Odeon.

Season ticket holders from the 2008/09 season have the opportunity to apply for tickets to the premiere via a ballot. For more details on the premiere event click here.

The documentary will then be available for all to watch for FREE on afcbTV at 00:01am on Thursday 25th April - a decade to the day of the famous victory against Grimsby Town.
