Mikael helps Gills earn a point

Mikael Ndjoli played his part as Gillingham claimed a hard-earned point from a 0-0 draw with League One rivals Portsmouth at Fratton Park.

Ndjoli was handed his sixth start by Gills boss Steve Evans and helped the visitors frustrate Pompey, restricting the hosts to few chances.

He was replaced by Mikael Mandron ten minutes from time as the Gills bounced back following a heavy defeat at Ipswich in the ELF Trophy in midweek.

Kyle Taylor was an unused substitute as Forest Green Rovers surrendered pole position in League Two after suffering a 1-0 defeat at Exeter.

Charlie Seaman was handed his fourth start in the National League by Eastleigh as they had the better of a 0-0 draw with Chorley.

The Spitfires extended to five matches their unbeaten run with Seaman replaced by Sam Smart 11 minutes from time at the Silverlake Stadium.

Tyler Cordner made his ninth appearance for Ebbsfleet in their 2-1 defeat by Maidenhead at Stonebridge Road.

Ebbsfleet opened the scoring through Josh Umerah before Danny Whitehall’s deflected free-kick made it 1-1 and Ryan Upward headed home the winner 14 minutes from time.

Frank Vincent was replaced by Armani Little 52 minutes into Torquay United’s 2-0 defeat against Notts County at Meadow Lane.

Goals from Richard Brindley and Kristian Dennis saw the Gulls’ three-game winning run come to an end.

Calum Ward and Shaun Hobson both played their part in Weymouth’s entertaining 2-2 draw with National South rivals Dulwich Hamlet.

The Terras extended to eight games their unbeaten run as a bumper crowd of 2,906 packed into Champion Hill to support Non-League Day 2019.

Dulwich took the lead through Connor Hunte before former AFC Bournemouth loan player Lionel Ainsworth netted a stunning equaliser to make it 1-1 at the break.

Yemi Odubade’s penalty gave Weymouth the lead four minutes into the second half, only for Christian Smith to restore parity seven minutes later.

Ward made some important saves and Hobson turned in another assured display as the Terras continued their excellent start to the season.

Cameron Plain was powerless to prevent Southern League South leaders Tiverton Town recording a 3-0 win over Wimborne Town at Cuthbury.

The goalkeeper was beaten by a double from River Allen and a Noah Smedon effort, while the Magpies had a couple of presentable chances with the score at 0-0.
