AFC Bournemouth
AFC Bournemouth's eSports represtative Marc Marley put in a great effort against Ebinho of Wolves, but was defeated 2-1 in games on FIFA 20.
With COVID-19 causing the Premier League to be postponed, the clubs got together to play the game on the virtual field instead, streamed live on the club's official YouTube channel.
Marley represented the club at last season’s ePremier League and also qualified for AFC Bournemouth for this season’s postponed competition.
In the first game against Wolves he was defeated 5-2, but won 3-0 in a sensational performance in game number two.
Wolves' four star team was too strong in the end with Ebinho securing the win in the final fixture 4-1.
It was the first time the Cherries had ever organised an eSports contest, and Marley was pleased to represent the club on the digital field.
"First of all I’d like to thank the club for the invite," Marley said.
"The gameplay conditions weren't the easiest to play in with the latency but I thought I managed to deal with them well in parts but struggled in others.
"Shoutout to David Brooks and Ryan Fraser who put some shifts in down the wings! Hopefully I'll be able to bounce back if there's another one.
"E Sports might not be for everyone, but in this current climate even if we were able to entertain some people then that’s important. Thank you to everyone who tuned in and watched us play."
