March Goal of the Month nominees announced

The nominees are in for March's Goal of the Month award, sponsored by Strategic Solutions.

Dominic Solanke has two strikes nominated for the accolade, while Jaidon Anthony and Abby Jones from the women's team have also been included in the vote.

It was a good month for the first team, with two wins, two draws and one defeat in the Sky Bet Championship, while Steve Cuss' women's side have two wins out of three in the National League.

Solanke's goal against Reading is the first to be nominated and it was a wonderful team goal in the 1-1 draw at Vitality Stadium. A one-two with Jefferson Lerma resulted in the Colombian's back-heel fell into the path of the striker, who finished low to give the Cherries the lead.

Next up is full-back Jones, who scored a double in the 6-1 win over Maidenhead. Her second is nominated for the club award, after she cut inside from the left and saw a curled effort fly into the top corner, helping her side to another three points.

Back over with the first team and our final two goals come from the 3-0 win over Huddersfield Town. Anthony finished a lovely team goal after Solanke was played in on the right. He cross was finished first-time by the winger to give Scott Parker's side the lead.

The number nine then got himself on the scoresheet with a sensational finish in the second half. Philip Billing's square ball found the forward, who back-heeled it home at the first time of asking. It was the third and final goal of a superb afternoon in West Yorkshire.
