Loan watch: Two Cherries net in mid-week fixtures

AFC Bournemouth AFC Bournemouth

AFC Bournemouth had six loanees in mid-week action last night, with both Lewis Grabban and Mihai Dobre on target for their respective clubs.

With each loanee playing in a different league or competition, there was plenty to report on following the evening.

Here’s a closer look at how the Cherries got on.

Lewis Grabban

Grabban scored the opening goal against his former club, as Aston Villa moved up to third with a 3-0 win over Sunderland.

The striker nodded in Albert Adomah’s cross at the back post 34 minutes in.

Mihai Dobre

The Cherries youngster also enjoyed a successful evening, as his Rochdale side also won 3-0 against Walsall.

Dobre netted his maiden goal for the club on 87 minutes, turning a defender and surging into the box to finish into the bottom corner. 

Ryan Allsop

Allsop played all 90 minutes between the sticks for Lincoln, who drew 1-1 at Mansfield.

Sam Surridge

The stirker came off the bench for Yeovil at half-time, as they played their EFL Trophy semi-final away at Shrewsbury.

However, the Glovers couldn’t overcome the hosts, losing out 1-0.

Shaun Hobson

In one of three National League games to go ahead, Hobson played at the back for Chester in their 2-0 loss to Dover.

Patrick O’Flaherty

The young ‘keeper got another 90 minutes in the tank for Gosport, who lost 4-0 to a strong Hereford side at Privett Park.

Elsewhere

Connor Mahoney didn’t feature in Barnsley’s 2-1 loss at high-flying Cardiff.
