AFC Bournemouth had eight loan players in action over the weekend, taking part in four different competitions all over the country.
Sam Surridge netted his seventh of the season for Swansea, as they defeated nine-man Middlesbrough 3-1 at the Liberty Stadium.
Andre Ayew netted twice, before Marcus Browne was sent off for a lunge on Mike Van Der Hoorn and Paddy McNair saw red for a late elbow on Matt Grimes.
With just under 20 minutes to go, Surridge, who played the full game, took his best opportunity of the match after bringing down Jake Bidwell’s cross, finishing low past Aynsley Pears to guarantee his side the three points.
Staying in the EFL, Nnamdi Ofoborh also played 90 minutes for Wycombe, who defeated Burton Albion 2-0 to move seven points clear at the top of League One.
David Wheeler scored in the first half to give Gareth Ainsworth’s side the lead, before a last-minute strike from captain Matt Bloomfield secured the win.
It was also a good weekend for Eastleigh and Charlie Seaman, who scored the last goal of his side’s 6-1 thrashing of Yate Town in the FA Trophy.
The full-back played 90 minutes and struck with just over ten to go, after a darting run down the right saw his shot deflected and find the near corner.
Tyler Cordner made an impact for Ebbsfleet in the same competition, as they progressed to the second round after a 2-0 win away at Enfield.
The defender played 90 minutes and helped his side keep a clean sheet, stopping efforts from Mo Faal and Billy Bricknell, as Gozie Ugwu and Alex Reid got the goals to send Fleet through.
Mark Molesley’s Weymouth side weren’t quite as fortunate, losing 2-1 to National League outfit Barnet at The Hive.
Under-21s trio Shaun Hobson, Brennan Camp and Calum Ward all played 90 minutes, with the young ‘keeper doing well to deny Josh Walker a hat-trick, as well as a late effort from Wes Fonguck.
In Scotland, Jermain Defoe came on as a 90th minute substitute as Rangers defeated Motherwell 2-0 away from home.
Nikola Katic and Alfredo Morelos were on target at Fir Park, before the latter was then sent off after gesturing to the home fans during his celebration.
Rangers remain second in the SPL, two points behind leaders Celtic.
