Seven Cherries loanees were in midweek action at the turn of the New Year, with Jake Scrimshaw’s second-half equaliser the pick of the bunch.

The Poole Town forward, on loan from AFC Bournemouth, scored an equalising header with his second touch of the game after coming on as a 65th minute substitute for Poole. They drew 2-2 away to Weymouth in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier League. The Dolphins are now 12th in the league after taking points off the title challengers.

Former Cherries Academy player Brandon Goodship played in the same game for Weymouth and opened the scoring on the 11th minute to remain the league’s top scorer, while Sam Sherring also featured for the Terras.

In the Premier League, Harry Arter played all of Cardiff’s 3-0 defeat at home to Tottenham Hotspurs. The Welsh side remain three points above the bottom three places.

Connor Mahoney came on at half-time for Birmingham City to replace Jacques Maghoma, as Birmingham came from 1-0 down at Sheffield Wednesday to draw 1-1. City are now 8th on 39 points, four below the playoff places in the Championship.

Down in League Two, Sam Surridge replaced Chris O’Grady for Oldham Athletic on the 67th minute against Notts County, as Oldham came away with a 2-0 victory. The win keeps Oldham just four points away from the League Two playoff spots and seven off the top three.

Elsewhere, Tyler Cordner played the full 90 in Havant and Waterlooville’s 2-1 defeat to Eastleigh in the National League, meaning Havant are now just one point above the relegation spots.

Meanwhile, Brennan Camp played the full game for Dorchester Town as they held on to a 3-2 lead over Tiverton Town, despite the latter being awarded a stoppage-time penalty with the chance to equalise. The result saw Dorchester rise one place to 18th in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier League.
