Loan watch: Mahoney strikes for Blues

AFC Bournemouth had just the three players in action for their respective loan clubs over the weekend.

Connor Mahoney struck his first goal for Birmingham over the weekend, as his side beat Sheffield Wednesday 3-1 at St. Andrew’s.

The visitors took the lead just 19 minutes in, as Steve Fletcher headed home from close range.

But, it was Mahoney who drew the Blues level, cutting in from the left flank to send a fierce shot arrowing beyond Owls keeper Cameron Dawson.

With ten minutes remaining, goals from Lukas Jutkiewicz and Che Adams sealed the three points, as Birmingham came out on top for the fourth success league game.

In non-league, the Cherries had two players in action. Tyler Cordner played 90 minutes as Havant & Waterlooville lost 4-0 to Leyton Orient, whilst Sam Sherring played the final ten minutes of Weymouth’s FA Trophy win over Taunton Town.

Elsewhere, Harry Arter, Brad Smith and Sam Surridge all missed out on their respective games through injury.

In Scotland Mikael Ndjoli was an unused substitute in Kilmarnock’s 1-1 draw with Hamilton, while Emerson Hyndman’s Hibernian didn’t have a game.

Loan watch is sponsored by Westover Group.
