Loan watch: Eight Cherries players in action

AFC Bournemouth AFC Bournemouth

A host of AFC Bournemouth’s loanees were in action over the course of the weekend.

Eight Cherries players featured for their respective clubs, turning out in league and cup fixtures around the country.

Here’s how they got on:

Ryan Allsop

Ryan Allsop got another 90 minutes in the bag for Blackpool, but couldn’t help the Tangerines to victory as they lost 2-1 to Southend United.

Mark Travers

Fellow ‘keeper Mark Travers also played 90 minutes for Weymouth in the FA Cup, but Mark Molesley’s side bowed out to Chelmsford.

Ollie Harfield

Ollie Harfield once again featured for Poole Town, playing every minute of their FA Cup tie with Slough, which was narrowly lost 2-1.

Matt Worthington

Matt Worthington was another Cherries man who got 90 minutes to his name, but Darren Way’s Yeovil side couldn’t find a leveller against Colchester, going down 1-0.

Sam Surridge

Alongside Worthington, Sam Surridge got some minutes for the Glovers, coming on after 66 minutes against Colchester.

Ben Whitfield

Also in League Two, Ben Whitfield featured for Port Vale as they lost 2-0 to Stevenage.

Joe Quigley

Joe Quigley turned out for Newport for the first time in August, coming off the bench with 15 minutes to go in their 3-1 defeat to Luton.

Mihai Dobre

The Cherries youngster once again featured for League One side Bury, playing the last 20 minutes as they were on the wrong side of a 2-0 scoreline with MK Dons.

Elsewhere

Lewis Grabban, Max Gradel, Baily Cargill and Jordan Lee were either unused substitutes or not involved in their side’s weekend squads.
