AFC Bournemouth AFC Bournemouth

AFC Bournemouth had plenty of players in weekend action, as the Football League season came to an end.

All loanees who finished their season on the weekend will now return to the Cherries ahead of the next campaign after a string of successful loan spells.

Heres a look at how they got on following the weekend’s fixtures.

Lewis Grabban

With a Championship play-off place already secured, Grabban came off the bench in Aston Villa’s 1-0 defeat to Millwall at The Den. Playing 25 minutes, the striker couldn’t help his side back into the game, after a Shaun Williams penalty had put the hosts in front.

Steve Bruce’s side will now go on to face Middlesbrough in the play-off semi-finals, with Villa eventually ending the season fourth in the Championship.

Max Gradel

Fellow striker Gradel played 79 minutes for Toulouse, but the French outfit lost their Ligue 1 clash with Lille 3-2.

A tight game saw Toulouse 2-1 up at the time of Gradel’s withdrawal, however two goals in the final ten minutes turned the fixture around, with Lille coming away with the three points.

Baily Cargill

Cargill’s Partick Thistle recorded a well-earned point at Ross County, with the defender starting and playing 57 minutes.

During that time, the youngster blocked a Jason Naismith effort well, which would have put County 2-1 up, but both sides held out for a 1-1 draw.

Connor Mahoney

It was a tough weekend for Mahoney and Barnsley, who were relegated from the Championship with a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Derby.

The winger started and played the first 70 minutes of the defeat, with his side 3-0 down at the time of his departure.

Ben Whitfield

Whitfield also started for his side, as Port Vale lost 5-0 to Cambridge United. The midfielder played 75 minutes, with the score a 3-0 prior to his substitution.

Ryan Allsop

Allsop’s season is not quite done yet, as Lincoln secured their place in the League Two play-offs. The ‘keeper once again played a full game between the sticks, as his side drew 1-1 with Yeovil to get the point they needed.

The Imps will now go on to face Exeter City in the play-off semi-finals, and will meet either Notts County or Coventry at Wembley should they progress.

Sam Surridge

On the opposite side was Surridge, who has enjoyed a successful loan spell with Yeovil. Drawing 1-1 on the weekend, the striker came on with a little under ten minutes to go as the Glovers moved up to finish in 19th place.

Joe Quigley

Quigley played the final few minutes of Boreham Wood’s win over Sutton United, which saw them reach the National League promotion final.

A 3-2 victory means that the Wood will now go to Wembley to face Tranmere Rovers in a bid to reach the Football League for the first time in their history.
