Debutant Alex Dobre helped Yeovil Town register a potentially-crucial 1-0 win over League Two high-fliers Mansfield Town on Saturday.

The Romanian winger, signed on loan on the eve of the clash at the One Call Stadium, was named in the Glovers starting line-up as the visitors looked to end a 10-match winless run in the league.

And former AFC Bournemouth man Jordan Green settled the contest when he netted the only goal after 19 minutes.

Victory saw Yeovil remain three points above drop zone ahead of the visit of bottom-placed Notts County to Huish Park at the weekend.

Goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale maintained his unbeaten start following his loan move to AFC Wimbledon.

Ramsdale, who played his part in the Dons’ FA Cup third-round win at Fleetwood, helped his new club record a 1-1 draw against League One rivals Coventry.

Jake Jervis put Wimbledon ahead after just two minutes at the Ricoh Arena before Ramsdale made a fine save to deny Liam Kelly.

However, he was powerless to prevent Luke Thomas grabbing a second-half equaliser as the teams had to settle for a share of the spoils.

Midfielder Harry Arter made his 19th appearance for Cardiff in their 0-0 draw with Huddersfield in the Premier League.

Brennan Camp had a hand in the Dorchester Town equaliser as they put up a brave fight before exiting the FA Trophy against FA Cup giant-killers Barnet.

Shaq Coulthirst, who bagged the only goal as the Bees eliminated Championship high-fliers Sheffield United in the third round of the FA Cup, drew first blood against the Magpies at the Hive.

But after Camp had headed a superb cross from Tom Blair back into the danger zone, Ben Seymour levelled for the visitors, only for Craig Robson to net a late winner as Barnet progressed to the third round.

Defender Sam Sherring helped Weymouth claim a 2-2 draw with Northern Premier League Division One West outfit Ramsbottom United in the FA Trophy.

The Terras twice took the lead through Jake McCarthy and Calvin Brooks, only to be pegged back by goals from Nic Evangelinos and Iyrwah Godden.

Godden’s injury-time leveller earned Ramsbottom a 500-mile round trip from Greater Manchester for tomorrow’s replay at the Bob Lucas Stadium.

Cherries coach and Weymouth manager Mark Molesley was an unused substitute for the Terras.

James Boote made his debut as an 80th-minute substitute in Poole Town’s 2-0 win at Tiverton Town in Southern League Premier Division South.

Victory saw Dolphins climb to 10th place ahead of the visit of Swindon Supermarine to the Black Gold Stadium tomorrow.
