As Oldham Athletic picked up a 1-1 draw away to Tranmere Rovers, Sam Surridge played the final 26 minutes for Oldham, keeping them mid-table in League Two. Surridge had a chance to score with an attempt to go around Scott Davies but the Rovers ‘keeper got a hand to the ball.

Sam Sherring put in a man of the match performance in Weymouth’s 1-1 draw at home to St Albans City in the third qualifying round of the FA Trophy at the weekend.

Weymouth went ahead early on, but a second-half equaliser forced a replay at Clarence Park on Tuesday.

Academy loanee Ryan Glover also made an appearance for Weymouth, coming on as a substitute with 15 minutes to go, before seeing a shot blaze over the bar after capitalising on a defensive error.

Elsewhere in the tournament, Jake Scrimshaw played 78 minutes for Poole Town in a 3-2 defeat at home to Dorking Wanderers. The forward saw a shot deflected onto the bar but wasn’t able to get his name on the scoresheet.
