Harry Arter made his debut for new loan club Cardiff City at the weekend.

The Republic of Ireland international played the full game and was booked for Neil Warnock’s side, as they secured their first Premier League point of the new campaign.

Elsewhere, Sam Surridge was on target for the first time for Oldham Athletic, opening the scoring with a neat run and finish in their 3-1 home win over Macclesfield Town.

Emerson Hyndman started for Hibernian, as they secured a late 3-2 victory over Ross County in the second round of the Scottish League Cup. The American was replaced on 64 minutes.

In the same competition, Mikael Ndjoli appeared as a second half substitute for Kilmarnock, who were defeated 3-1 by Steven Gerrard’s Rangers.

Connor Mahoney was an unused substitute for Birmingham City, as they drew 0-0 with Swansea City in the Sky Bet Championship on Friday evening.

Brad Smith missed out on Seattle Sounders’ convincing 5-0 MLS win over LA Galaxy through injury.
