Loan Watch: Cherries feature in FA Cup

AFC Bournemouth had nine players in action over the weekend, as the FA Cup kicked off for several EFL sides.

Here’s a look at how our loanees fared.

Matt Worthington

Young Cherries defender Matt Worthington played 90 minutes and kept a clean sheet, as Yeovil beat League One outfit Southend United to go into the FA Cup second round.  

Sam Surridge

It was a similar story for striker Sam Surridge, who also played a full part for Darren Way’s side at Huish Park.

Mihai Dobre

Mihai Dobre also featured in the FA Cup this weekend, coming on after 76 minutes as his Bury side drew 1-1 with Woking, now requiring a replay to seal their place in round two.

Ryan Allsop

Despite a full 90 minutes between the sticks, Ryan Allsop couldn’t prevent Blackpool from a first round elimination, as Boreham Wood were 2-1 victors at Meadow Park.

Lewis Grabban

In the Championship, Lewis Grabban couldn’t continue his scoring streak in the Tees-Wear derby, as Middlesbrough snatched a 1-0 win to climb up to fifth in the table.

Max Gradel

Over in France, Max Gradel was another who saw his side defeated on the weekend, playing 79 minutes as Toulouse lost 2-1 at Nantes.

Mark Travers

Mark Travers completed 90 minutes in goal, but his Weymouth side couldn’t overcome Hitchin, losing out 3-1.

Sam Matthews

The midfielder recorded 11 minutes of game time with Eastleigh over the weekend, as the National League clash with Chester finished 2-2.

Ollie Harfield

Ollie Harfield was also in action on Saturday, coming off the bench as Poole Town thrashed Eastbourne 4-0.
