AFC Bournemouth strikers Callum Wilson and Joshua King both made their mark on the international stage this week.

Wilson became the first Cherries player to win a cap for England in a competitive game when he came off the bench in their 5-1 victory against Montenegro on Monday.

The 27-year-old replaced Harry Kane after 83 minutes in Podgorica as Gareth Southgate’s men maintained their winning start to their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign.

Wilson, who had been an unused substitute in Friday’s 5-0 triumph over Czech Republic at Wembley, had a shot blocked during the closing stages against Montenegro.

Despite falling behind, England responded emphatically with Ross Barkley’s double and goals from Michael Keane, Kane and Raheem Sterling seeing them take maximum points – and 10 goals – from their first two games.

King played a starring role during Norway’s dramatic 3-3 draw with Sweden in a Euro 2020 qualifier in Oslo last night.

The striker twice went close to breaking the deadlock – including hitting the crossbar with a header – before providing the assist for Bjorn Johnsen to draw first blood.

King started and finished a sweeping move which saw the hosts double their lead, the frontman heading home his sixth goal in his past nine appearances for his country.

Sweden halved the deficit with 20 minutes remaining when Viktor Claesson netted the rebound after Andreas Granqvist’s penalty had been saved and Robin Quaison levelled with five minutes left.

Quaison struck again in stoppage time, only for Norway to equalise when Ola Kamara headed home in the seventh minute of added time.

King, who netted a penalty in Norway’s 2-1 defeat by Spain on Friday, took his goal tally to 14 in 39 appearances for his country.

Dominic Solanke captained England under-21s at Vitality Stadium and scored on his home turf - with full reaction from Solanke here.

Jefferson Lerma was an unused substitute in Colombia’s 2-1 defeat by South Korea in a friendly yesterday.

Tottenham’s Son Heung-Min and Lee Jae-Sung were on target for South Korea with Luis Diaz replying for Colombia.

Midfielder Lerma earned his 10th cap in Colombia’s 1-0 win over Japan in Yokohama on Friday.

Goalkeeper Mark Travers was on the bench as the Republic of Ireland registered a 1-0 victory over Georgia in a Euro 2020 qualifier in Dublin last night.

Conor Hourihane’s finely-executed free-kick saw the Boys in Green follow up their win over Gibraltar on Saturday when Travers was also an unused substitute.

Goalkeeper Jordan Holmes played his part as Australia under-23s secured a place at the 2020 AFC Under-23 Championship in Thailand in January.

Holmes kept a clean sheet in their 6-0 win over Cambodia last week with the young Aussies adding a 6-0 victory over Chinese Taipei and a 2-2 draw with South Korea in their group games.

It saw them finish as the top-ranked second-placed team in qualifying to seal a place at next year’s 16-nation tournament.

The 2020 AFC Under-23 Championship will double up as the final phase of qualifying for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo with the top three teams joining Japan as Asia’s representatives. Australia last qualified for the Beijing Olympics in 2008.

AFC Bournemouth youth team skipper Brennan Camp won his third cap for Scotland in their 4-0 defeat by Portugal in a European Under-19 Championship qualifier yesterday.

Camp, who scored on his debut in a 2-0 win over Azerbaijan in a friendly last month, replaced Chelsea’s Billy Gilmour in the 57th minute in Porto.
