Internationals: Dream debut for Wilson

Callum Wilson made a dream start to his senior England international career on Thursday evening.

The Cherries striker started the game and was on the scoresheet during the Three Lions’ comfortable 3-0 friendly victory over USA at Wembley Stadium.

The Cherries frontman, who had previously represented England at under-21 level, netted the third goal of the game converting a low Fabian Delph cross with a clever left-footed finish at the near post.

Wilson looked lively throughout the course of the game and was replaced by Marcus Rashford on 79 minutes.

England are next in action on Sunday evening, with Wilson eligible for selection for the UEFA Nations League game against Croatia at Wembley.

Elsewhere, Lewis Cook started and captained the England Under-21 side in their 2-1 friendly away win against Italy in Ferrara. Dominic Solanke netted both of the goals for the Young Lions, who are now unbeaten in their last 17 games.

Also, at under-21 level Alex Dobre came on as a second-half substitute for Romania in a 3-3 draw with Belgium.
