Coming behind only Watford in the rankings for the best playing surface in the Championship, head of grounds Ian Lucas and his staff will receive a certificate for their achievement.
The pitches across the league are given marks across the season by the referee and away team managers for all Championship matches.
The three clubs with the highest divisional average are then visited by Neil Rodger from the Sports Turf Research Institute who caries out further assessments which cover pitch quality, environmental conditions and usage and resources and management.
Once all club visits have taken place, in-depth reports and recommendations are submitted to the Playing Surfaces Committee, at which point winners are determined.
