Dominic Solanke was on target for England under-21s at Vitality Stadium this evening.
Aidy Boothroyd's side were defeated by Germany, who took the lead through Mahmoud Dahoud's opener.
Solanke's strike in front of a sold out stadium saw the teams go into the break all square and the friendly looked to be heading for a draw.
However, in the dying stages, Felix Uduokhai netted for the visitors to steal the win, leaving little time for England to resound.
Despite the result, Solanke, who was captain on the night, produced a man-of-the-match performance.
