Gallery: Parker's career in photos

After it was confirmed that Scott Parker was named AFC Bournemouth’s new head coach, we flicked through the archives to pick out the best images from his 20-year playing career.

A journey which started at Charlton in 1997, with the central midfielder coming up through the youth ranks, his career would see him largely based in the capital.

From the Addicks, he moved across the city to Chelsea, before his only stint up north came with Newcastle in 2005.

Two years later and Parker returned, this time to west London as the Hammers came calling.

Four seasons and 129 appearances later, it was Spurs where he would next make his mark in the middle of the park, winning Player of the Year following his first full season at the club.

His final playing appearances would come at Fulham, arriving at Craven Cottage in the summer of 2013, before the former England international announced his retirement from football in 2017.

Flick through the gallery above for the best images from Parker’s decorated career, which most recently saw him take the reigns at Fulham and guide them to the Premier League.
