FPL round up: Top scorers and Brooks returns

The first Fantasy Premier League gameweek of March saw the average score across the game at 40 – with a number of high-profile players blanking.

Gameweek 29 was largely, another one to forget but there were still some impressive scores in the AFC Bournemouth Official Fan League.

TOP SCORER

With a triple captain chip in play, Wael Hamzeh managed to score a huge 85 points, seeing him as this week’s top scorer in our fan league.

Wael triple captained Wolves’ Raul Jimenez, which scored him 36 points alone – nearly as much as the average score for entire teams across the gameweek.

Diogo Jota scored Wael 11 points while Gonzalo Higuain accumulated eight after netting against Fulham.

Congratulations Wael!

TOP OF THE TABLE

Things are still looking good for league leader Joel Tesfai, despite scoring just 28 points in the gameweek.

He’s still top but the gap has been reduced to just 25 points as Robert Zigashin scored 47 points.
Things are heating up at the top!

LOOKING AHEAD

After losing to Manchester City 1-0 on Saturday, the Cherries have exited a tough run of games and now enjoy a much better – at least on paper – collection of fixtures.

This starts at Huddersfield away next week and David Brooks has returned to fitness, playing 75 minutes against City at the weekend. That's on top of signing a new long-term contract with the club.

The Welshman has scored 96 points in total despite missing the last four gameweeks and he’s a key part of the Cherries’ attacking threat, and potentially your mini league as only 3.3% of players own him.

Elsewhere, Artur Boruc remains one of the cheapest players in the game at £4m, and he made seven saves against City in another impressive display since his return to the team.

With 28 points from the last seven gameweeks, even as a substitute 'keeper it seems a no brainer to have the Polish stopper in your squads.

The Cherries’ next five are: Huddersfield (A), Newcastle (H), Leicester (A), Burnley (H), Brighton (A).
