AFC Bournemouth AFC Bournemouth

Things are hotting up in the AFC Bournemouth fan league with yet another leader at the top of the table.

Viktor Andri has surged into first place after an impressive gameweek score of 97, taking his total points up to 2,214, one ahead of Joel Tesafi in second.

Viktor’s team performed superbly across the board, starting at the back with Andy Robinson’s clean sheet against Chelsea.

In midfield, all but one player hit double figures, with Cherries midfielder Ryan Fraser scoring a remarkable 16. Additionally, Paul Pogba ended with 15 points and Fulham’s Ryan Babel with 14.

However, the bulk of Viktor’s points came with Raheem Sterling, who was chosen as captain. His two goals saw him add a further 28 points to an already impressive week.

However, hot on his heels is regular front-runner Joel Tesafi. He picked up 52 points in gameweek 34, two below the average across the board.

Artur Boruc in goal scored five for his clean sheet against Brighton, while Robertson and Pogba were popular choices again.

However, Heung-Min Son as captain only bagged eight points for Joel after just the one assist against Huddersfield, having started on the bench.

Fraser awarded assist

Following a review by the Premier League following Saturday’s game, Ryan Fraser was awarded the assist for David Brooks’ goal against Brighton.

At the time, it hadn’t been given due to a touch from Lewis Dunk just before the Welshman slotted home his side’s third of the afternoon, but the decision has since been overturned.

As a result, Fraser now sits joint top of the Premier League assist chart for the 2018/19 season with 12 to his name, alongside both Eden Hazard and Christian Eriksen.

Double figures galore

Following an excellent weekend for the Cherries, three of Eddie Howe’s players ended the week on double figures.

Fraser bagged 16, Callum Wilson scored 15, while Brooks recorded an impressive 12 points. The latter, however, may not be a bad suggestion for your fantasy football team, being owned by just 4.9% of users, in comparison to Fraser (22.5%) and Wilson (17.1%) who fare slightly more popular.

Cherries differentials

Steve Cook made his return from injury on the weekend and put in a fine display at the heart of defence for the Cherries. Also leading his side out at the AMEX, he looks set to play a prominent role for the remaining weeks of the season, with both Simon Francis and Andrew Surman currently sidelined with injuries.

Saturday also saw a switch of position for Nathan Ake, who played left-back as opposed to his more familiar role at centre-back. The Dutch international was seen bombing forward and getting the odd cross into the box and could be in line to play a similar position on Saturday given Cook’s return. Ake already has over 100 fantasy points this season and could well have more to his name should his positional switch continue.

Finally, Dan Gosling popped up with his first goal of the season on the weekend and was owned by just 0.1% of users ahead of the game against Brighton. The midfielder has featured frequently for Eddie Howe’s side this season and, with both Surman and Lewis Cook out, he looks set to feature again against Fulham.
