FPL Round-Up: Gameweek 33 digested

With reduced fixtures, gameweek 33 threw up plenty of surprises despite a low average score of just 36.

However, not all in the Cherries fan league suffered and we have a new leader at the top in the form of Adam Banaszczyk, who finished with a remarkable 85 points.

Jamie Vardy was an excellent choice as captain, picking up 32 points, while Eden Hazard in midfield score 16.

Elsewhere, Palace ‘keeper Vicente Guaita scored ten points after his clean sheet and three bonus points against Newcastle.

However, closing in on Adam, and just two points behind him, is Robert Ziganshin, who this week scored 68.

At the back, Aaron wan-Bissaka and David Luiz both performed well, keeping clean sheets, while Vardy and Hazard both proved popular again.

Nevertheless, Mo Salah was selected as captain and also hit double figures after his goal against Southampton, scoring 12 points for Robert’s team.

Both Adam and Robert will be hoping to continue their good form and remain ahead of Joel Tesfai, who has led the Cherries fan league for the majority of the season.

Joel currently sits in third, just three points off top spot.

Double gameweek coming up

With FA Cup fixtures meaning that eight teams didn’t have a Premier League game last weekend, the next two weeks will see them making up for lost time.

Brighton, Manchester City, Watford and Wolves will all play at least one additional fixture in the next fortnight, meaning their players could be ones to look out for.

Time running out

With just five gameweeks left, it may be time to start using chips that haven’t been played throughout the season. Official FPL rules state that no two chips can be used in the same week, meaning the free hit, bench boost and triple captain must all be used separately.

Additionally, the wildcard also can’t be used in the same week as another chip. Therefore, if you’ve saved it until the later stages of the season, with double gameweeks coming up, there’s now limited opportunities to take advantage.
