Flags continue for season's run in

Around 3,000 red and black flags will be available for fans to help show their support for AFC Bournemouth on Saturday against Crystal Palace.

As the 2017/18 season reaches a crucial stage, the club has invested in the flags to build on what is already a vibrant, vociferous atmosphere at Vitality Stadium.

Eddie Howe’s side have six games remaining, as they look to not only secure a fourth successive campaign of Premier League football but also potentially beat last term’s ninth-place finish.

On Saturday, two different sizes of flag will be available for all supporters to collect from yellow bins upon entry through the turnstiles in every stand.

The flags should be returned to those bins after the final whistle before leaving the stadium, in order for them to be re-used for the final two home games of the season after Palace.

“For me, the supporters are huge,” said AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe.

“They are a huge part of our home games because they are so close to the pitch. They have always been like an extra man for us – I know it’s a cliché but I truly believe that.

“In our Championship campaign and then staying in the Premier League in our first and second seasons, they were absolutely massive for us. They pulled us over the line.

“When you play any game at home, whoever the opposition, it is so important to create a good atmosphere for our players to thrive in.”
