February Goal of the Month nominees revealed

AFC Bournemouth AFC Bournemouth

The nominees are in for February's Goal of the Month award, sponsored by Strategic Solutions.

Dominic Solanke, Siriki Dembele, Daniel Adu-Adjei and Lucy Cooper are all up for the accolade, which supporters can vote for on our Twitter poll here

The first team, under-18s and women's team are all represented amongst the four nominees, with it being one of our most diverse month's yet.

Solanke netted the second goal in a 3-1 win over Birmingham City towards the start of February, latching onto Ryan Christie's pass and shooting across the 'keeper. The goal proved pivotal as the Cherries doubled their advantage and went on to pick up a valuable three points.

Dembele's goal away to Blackpool, which is also nominated, proved to be decisive as his 96th minute winner saw Scott Parker's side complete an excellent comeback at Bloomfield Road. With Jamal Lowe having equalised, the winger then beat his man and found the corner from the right after a good team move.

Adu-Adjei's fine strike came in the Youth Alliance League title decider against Plymouth, as he struck in the 2-2 draw at Canford Arena. The forward received it at his feet, turned his man and left the Arygle 'keeper no chance as Alan Connell's side went on to lift the trophy.

Finally, Cooper receives her first nomination for a Goal of the Month award, with her finish coming against Poole Town in a convincing 4-0 win. She burst forward from Emma Davis' header on the halfway line and struck from 20 yards as the Cherries strengthened their lead at Verwood Town.

We'd like to extend our thanks to Strategic Solutions for their continued sponsorship of the award.
