With the Premier League season having returned on the weekend, FPL managers were forced into making big decisions ahead of kick-off.

Gameweek one saw 31 goals scored, meaning that there were plenty of points on offer, but who tops the AFC Bournemouth fan league and which Cherries man currently leads out of the players?

Mohammed Zaki topped the AFC Bournemouth fan league with 109 points on the opening weekend of the season. Romelu Lukaku as captain proved to be a wise decision, gaining 26 points, whilst Spurs duo Christian Eriksen and Ben Davies provided two assists and a goal respectively.

With Mohammed out in front, the fan league has three users tied in second place. Felix Jnr, Jake Laughton and Mimi Mtm all have 105 points to their name and will be looking to top the table next week.

Charlie Daniels once again proved to be the most popular Cherries player after his strong season last year. He was selected by 852,727 users for gameweek one, a figure that equates to 20.1% of fantasy players.

The defender is priced at a reasonable £5 million following his three assists and four goals last season, whilst he is also a regular in Eddie Howe’s starting line-up so there is no surprise that he’s a popular choice.

Daniels also featured prominently within the AFC Bournemouth players’ league.

Lewis Cook currently tops the chart with 86 points, after Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Lukaku came up trumps.

Goals for David Luiz and Dele Alli also aided the Cherries youngster who sits six points clear from Dan Gosling.

Up the other end of the table, Steve Cook sits at the foot on 41 points. Goals from Alvaro Morata and Paul Pogba ensured that the centre-back didn’t have a complete disaster but he still remains 10 points adrift from Asmir Begovic who is just above him on 51 points.
