AFC Bournemouth’s Everyone Together campaign has been honoured with the Hampshire FA Equality Champion Award at the Hampshire FA Grassroots Football Awards 2019.

Hampshire FA celebrated people, clubs and leagues that make a positive difference across Hampshire football communities on Saturday 13th July at St Mary’s Stadium.

At the event, the club’s Everyone Together campaign won the Hampshire FA Equality Champion Award which recognises individuals, organisations or programmes that promote equality and inclusion within their community.

The award was given out by Hampshire FA’s football development manager Chris Smith and Leroy Rosenior MBE.

Everyone Together is a supporter-led campaign that uses the positivity that football brings to people’s lives to celebrate diversity, tackle prejudice and promote understanding.

The long-term campaign, which was launched last season, aims to eliminate all forms of discrimination at Vitality Stadium and provide a safe, inclusive and enjoyable match experience for everyone.

The campaign is visible across all key touchpoints, including the matchday programme, the club’s digital platforms and around the stadium.

Videos that have been released so far as part of the campaign have been especially well received, with more currently in production.

In its first season, the campaign achieved awareness levels of 86% and 75% among season ticket holders and match ticket purchasers respectively.

AFC Bournemouth equality partnerships executive Ben Abberstein said: “It’s great for the club and supporters that the campaign and our work in this area has been recognised with this prestigious award. It was particularly special to have been able to accept the award with Adam, who is an inspiration to me and so many others.”
