Douglas joins club's medical team

AFC Bournemouth have appointed former Luton Town striker Stuart Douglas as a first-team physiotherapist.

The 42-year-old, who made more than 300 appearances during his playing career, joins Dr Craig Roberts’ medical team at Vitality Stadium.

Douglas arrives from AFC Wimbledon where he spent more than seven years as head physiotherapist.

He qualified as a physiotherapist towards the end of his playing career in 2010 and his first appointment was with Woking.

Douglas played under current Cherries boss Jason Tindall at Weymouth and with coaches Graeme Jones and Simon Weatherstone at Boston United.

As a player, he progressed through the youth ranks at Luton Town and went on to make 173 appearances in all competitions for the Hatters.

Douglas also played for Dagenham & Redbridge, Crawley Town, Bath City, Dorchester Town and Poole Town, together with a spell in Finland with Rovaniemen Palloseura.
