Club to support Bournemouth’s Pride Festival

AFC Bournemouth will be supporting and recognising the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) community at Bourne Free this weekend.

Cherry Bear will be joining AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust with Powerstrike at the free family fun night on Friday 30th June, starting at 5pm.

The family entertainment-filled evening also includes an open-to-air screening of The Incredibles, live music and free face-painting for all children.

The event promises to be one of Bournemouth's most colourful occasions this summer, with this year's theme featuring superheroes. Supporters are encouraged to add their red and black stripes to the rainbow.

“Football is incredibly powerful in society and we have a responsibility to show support and recognition to all of our supporters,” said equality partnerships executive Ben Abberstein. “Togetherness has always been an important and guiding principle for our club.”

In February, AFC Bournemouth supported Student Pride at Bournemouth University and has supported Space Youth Project throughout last season as its official club charity.
