Club remember Albert Keetley

AFC Bournemouth have learned of the passing of former full-back Albert Keetley.

Born in Nottingham in 1930, Keetley joined the Cherries in 1952 from first club Bury, who he had signed for as a professional two years previously.

A versatile full-back, Keetley - pictured above taking on Stanley Matthews during an exhibition match in Jersey - went on to amass 91 appearances for the club, 86 coming in the league, under the management of Jack Bruton.

However, knee injury brought the defender's career to a premature end in 1959, though Keetley would stay in the game and coached with Weymouth, Bradford City and Exeter City. He also spent 23 years with various branches of Bournemouth Social Services before retiring in 1993.

The thoughts of all at AFC Bournemouth are with Keetley's family and friends at this time.
