Over the coming weeks, AFC Bournemouth will be reaching out to its vulnerable and socially isolated supporters affected by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

With Premier League football suspended until 30th April, the club’s ticketing team will proactively call fans on its database who fall into the Government’s ‘at risk’ category.

Staff will engage with those supporters about a range of topics including their love of the club and favourite Cherries memories, while they will also complete a weekly AFC Bournemouth quiz.

“Community has always been at the heart of everything we do here at AFC Bournemouth,” explained AFC Bournemouth general manager, Liz Finney.

“Now more than ever before, it is our duty to provide as much help and assistance as possible to those who need us.

“And with no tickets on sale for Premier League fixtures, we thought a good way to do this would be to speak directly to those supporters who are vulnerable and classed as ‘at risk’.

“For some, their weekly trip to the ticket office or Superstore at Vitality Stadium may be the only interaction they get with others.

“These calls allows us to maintain that contact with their club.”

Please note, no payment will ever be taken on these calls and no personal data will be asked for, either.

If you are unsure whether it is AFC Bournemouth making the call, please ask the caller for your Supporter Number, which they will have to hand and be able to recite back to you.
