AFC Bournemouth are proud to be joining forces with the rest of the EFL and the Premier League to support Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces campaign this year.
The initiative aims to raise awareness of LGBTQ+ inclusion in football and society as a whole and will be celebrated by all clubs this weekend.
The campaign this year highlights the importance of holding open conversations in support of LGBTQ+ communities, a theme that complements AFC Bournemouth’s Everyone Together campaign.
Supporter Shiv Meaker, who has been following the Cherries since the 1980s, features in the latest Everyone Together video released on Friday (26 November). A member of the LGBTQ+ supporters’ group Proud Cherries, Shiv speaks openly, honestly and passionately about being an LGBTQ+ supporter at Vitality Stadium.
The piece follows on from the launch of the club’s Pride range in the Superstore in the summer, with the club keen to emphasise that football is for everyone.
AFC Bournemouth will also be showing support for Rainbow Laces across its digital platforms and matchday activities for Saturday’s game against Coventry City at Vitality Stadium.
